TEEN Dramatic writing

for performance

ACTORS Ages 13+

Ever had a great idea for a monologue, play, or spoken word poem and wanted a group of theatrical minded friends to workshop it out with you? Then this class is for you! Students in this class will work creatively and collectively to pick a theme to write pieces personal and unique to them, and —with their fellow writers — prepare a presentation of their works. We’ll discuss character though words, story arc, relationship, and specificity through writing prompts, music choices, and image collection — creating a beautiful universe for our pieces to live in and inspire others! We’ll discover how to give and receive constructive feedback and weave a web between each writer and their pieces into a dramatic narrative whole. Students will learn that, in the vast sea of works by professional writers, their personal stories shine bright!
