Welcome to Musical Sketch Comedy! This ORIGINAL and FUN workshop takes sketch writing and songwriting to the next level putting Broadway in a blender with pop songs, Disney, and other genres making an amazing fun show on Friday! Students will pick and choose their favorite Broadway Show tunes and mix and match them together into musical reviews! Write a musical parody of your favorite superhero movie using music from Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, and The Lion King. Or the epic tale of a battle between bears and zombies with songs from Les Miserable, The Little Mermaid, and The Book of Mormon. Students will work together to pick the songs, write the scripts, make adjustments to the music, and stage their shows! - This will all culminate in an awesome showcase on Friday!
Sean McCracken is an actor, singer, and improvisor who has over 20 years experience on stage, as well as in film, television, etc. He has most recently been seen on television in Stranger
Things (Netflix), and on stage in North Carolina Theatre's West Side Story. He has a BA in Dramatic Art from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. [See More]
The Workshop will culminate in a WACKY FUN showcase at the end of the week!

Madeline Taylor is a North Carolina native, has been acting since she was 8 years old in film and on stage. Having been a child actor herself (HBO’s John Adams as Nabby Adams, Sundance Channel’s Rectify, Cinemax’s Banshee, Law and Order: SVU, CBS’s The Inspectors, and more!), she loves teaching her craft to young aspiring actors.
